Hi Willa, glad to see you posting. I have a West Bend stand mixer. It is nice, but I don't use it nearly as much as my small hand mixer. I don't know why, but it just seems more inconvenient to use. I usually will mix most everything by hand rather than drag out the mixer!! I know they are very expensive, so I don't really have any advice on whether they are worth the money or not.

I bought a bright red one three years ago with income tax money(over 350.00!). I will say I love it!!!!!! I use it for everything. I will say though you need to leave it on the counter in a convient place or it will not get used as much. I don't mix anything with my hand mixer anymore.I can also get attachments for just about anything. If you have the money and really want one I say go for it. If I had to do it over again, I would go late at night so no one would see me spending that much on a mixer!!!!!!God BLess

I have one and love it, have all the attachments also, mostly just use those during canning season. My advice would be to get one of the larger ones, they have the lift handle for the bowl. I didn't care for that design and got the smaller motor that the head lifted, my only regret is not getting the most powerful one I could, because with the attachments I can tell a more powerful motor would sure help out in that area. good luck.

I have the big kitchenaid that they offer, and I love it! I use it on a weekly basis, for just about everything. Bread kneading, potato mashing, butter making, you name it. If you want to get one and dont want to spend over 300.00 go to their website and get a refurbished one. Thats what I did and they only cost 209.00 plus shipping, and if you hit it right, the run offers of free shipping. They offer a 6 mth warrenty on it as well. Mine is just like new!! Not a scratch on it, and it come with all the beaters too. They offer most all of their countertop appliances refurbished, so you have a good choice if you are looking for something else too.

Take care!

I have one. I like it, but it's never used. It's easier for me to just do it all with my hands. My Gramps had one with all the bells and whistles and he got some major use out of it-- my sister inherited it and she uses the livin' tarnation out of it. It's old enough that the cord is permanently embedded with flour...I'd say it's a good buy, if you intend to use it enough.

I have had my white one for 10 years. It is the smaller size without the lift handle. I love it..use it alot. I bought the meat grinder attachment and have used the heck out of that too. I say they are worth the money and last. It is the only mixer I own. I am not a kitchen gadget type person..but this one I love..!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had the big one with the lift handle for over ten years. I've never had a minutes trouble with it, it's still like new. I use it for everything from mashing potatoes to kneading bread dough. I absolutely love it and it is WELL worth the money! I have all the attachments too but don't use them as much. Of all the things in my kitchen, my Kitchenaid mixer is the one thing I will not do without!!! You won't regret getting one!

It's one thing I can say I would replace .It's a great product and worth every penny.Walmart is carrying one now , also Bj's or other food clubs carry them often with "free" attachments.
