can you imagine the brain implosions that woudl occur if a team as bad as us was top of the table going into Xmas. the obvious conclusion is that we are better than all the rest, OR the worse conclusion is that all the rest are worse than us ??

On a 'the table never lies' theory after 45% of the games there are 17 teams worse than us in the Premiership ( 85%!! ), by tonight it could be 100%. How could the people who build up our game continue to live the lie that it is a great league if 100% of the teams in the country are worse than Newcastle ???

We know how average we are, but this averageness does not seemingly lend itself to Leeds, Chelsea, Spurs, Man U, Villa who are behind us.
