What do we owe to Pig Stand #21?

Answers

I can't resist a challenge like that so here goes....

Jimmy Dean Sausage........ New and sanitary equipment for butchering hogs.....A special blend of metals and minerals to create pig iron....

If I even had a clue as to what it was I would venture a guess!!!!

I am thinking of the Bay of Pigs, which I think (reaching way back here) was some kind of military thing. So I will say we owe our FREEDOM!!!!!

Leonard Nemoy told me about it. Treckies need not apply.~

Drive in restaurants. Had a friend from Texas . I guess the restaurants are big down there. Never heard of them around here. WI

Talk to you later.

OUCH! First crack in the armour.

Treckies?? Star Trek, I am so lost...

-- Melissa (me@home.net), December 19, 2001.

Hot dogs! I was about to congratulate you on spelling "armour" the Canadian way, when I thought of Armour hot dogs.

-- Cathy N. (keeper8@attcanada.ca), December 19, 2001.

I called my brother, who lives in TX, and he said they are fast food restaurants. (I used to live in Austin, but I don't remember seeing them there!) Since, it's fast food, I'm going to guess that they had the first drive through window.

No to the hot dogs, they were with us in 1871, long before drive in restaurants. Leonard Nemoy, a.k.a. Mr Spock from star trek went on the do other types of shows including educational television so "treckies need not apply" was to seperate Nemoy from a blind alley. My misspelling of armor was not a clue in that there was no tilde (~) behind the sentances. A sentance with a tilde indicates a hidden clue.

But Officer, I just took my eyes off the screen for a few seconds to type an explination and when I looked back there she was with a correct answer; Cheryl swatts another one. If you would like to find that one in your search engine, using only the info given in the original question feel free. I am now posting stumpers with no keywords, basicly asking the questions backwards, this eliminates search engine access.

One more question for today: Those in the know say there is ___ different communications sounds (with different meanings) in a language named "Chicken Speak".

-- mitch hearn (moopups@citlink.net), December 19, 2001.

I really must need sleep. Ok "chicken speak" I would say about 15 differtn sounds. Eventually all of my inane guesses will result in a right answer!!

-- Melissa (me@home.net), December 19, 2001.

Alright, if we are talking about real, live chickens, here is my guess (don't ask me to spell out the specific sounds):

#1 "I am the King Rooster!"

#2 "Just letting you know I am a rooster."

#3 "I just laid an egg!"

#4 "Danger, chicks! Get over here now!"

#5 "Feed time!"

#6 "You startled me!"

#7, #8 Sounds made when rooster is on top of hen.

There are probably more, and you are probably not talking about live chickens.

-- Cathy N. (keeper8@attcanada.ca), December 19, 2001.

I am asking about live chickens, poultry researchers have found that chickens lie and decieve other chickens, give alarms relevant to the type threat, and do have a larger vocabulary than you would think.

-- mitch hearn (moopups@citlink.net), December 19, 2001.

Mitch, that is really funny and interesting. When this answer is answered to your satisfaction, will you let us in on where you got the info? I'd like to read up on it, myself.

-- Cathy N. (keeper8@attcanada.ca), December 19, 2001.

There are 25 different sounds chickens make in communications with other chickens: http://somq.npa.uiuc.edu/~mmaciver/chicken_smart.html and they lie and decieve also. Text only, no sound.

Cathy dear, you forget. HEY THERE CHICKS!

-- jillian (daffodil_skunk83@hotmail.com), December 20, 2001.

Mitch, I can't get that link to work, and I would really like to know more about these chicks running around here telling lies to each other!!!! Can you check it please? Thanks so much!

If I catch 'em lying, I swear I'm gonna wash their beaks out with soap! :-)

Go into Goggle search, type in "chicken communication research", page 2 "chickens are smarter than you think".

-- mitch hearn (moopups@citlink.net), December 20, 2001.

Make that page 1, and I am still looking for the printed number 25 that must have been on an adjasent post.
