You should be able to find basic information in a directory of the American Psychological Association: generally those entries provide dates of birth and information about graduate degrees. You might check the various Who's Who reference books, for which there is an overall name index. According to his textbook, Brennan was on the faculty at Loyola University in Chicago. If you check their website you'll find he's recently moved, without any indication of where. For fun, you might check dissertation abstracts and PsycInfo for his work- -dissertation abstracts would at least tell you where he earned his degree and what his dissertation title was.

James Brennan - a former student at Kent State, is currently serving as an administrator at Univ. Louisville (KY). For some limited biographical info on Brennan, see the preface to the 1st (1982) edition of his History & Systems book.

...or you could ask him your questions directly: the U. Lousiville website gives his e-mail address as brennan@louisville.edu.
