Something the Troll didnt count on

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Anarchy Again : One Thread

HA! I just noticed he came back. But heres something he didnt count on, I just happen to be one of the moderators of the board. Ah well, sucks to be him. He's gets to be the first one banned, huzzah!

On a side note, I dont tolerate any kinda shit like the stuff hes pulling (y'all know what Im talking about). Insult each other, beat on each other, fling names, call each other dirty. But dont become this fuck and start doin... whatever (I cant even name it). Fair warning enough, right?

Oh, BTW, if any of you see him pulling any shit that I havent caught, just let me know.

For the record, its one guy using different computers. 213.38.159.131 212.88.58.9 213.121.102.86 (Dirty Guy, Straight 4 Life)

Then we have the big troll, the one trying to route through the Jap IP. But hey, screw him. Its the same guy as the above, but one of the computers he has is set up differently. Its the one he uses the most, which means its his home computer.

Oh, and PirateSocks? Please, for the love of god, get rid of AOL.

-- Krunch Kobra (??????@??????.???), December 29, 2001.

If anyone has extra AOL "free demo discs", please send them to me. I need to re-shingle the roof of my house....

-- Davey Rootbeer (yankeefans2@juno.com), December 30, 2001.

KK, why can we see all julies posts on the Admin Page but not that AOL Troll's?

-- Tator (you@cant.resist), December 30, 2001.

Hes not using AOL, hes routing through a jap server. Its harder to find out where he is, but that part has already been broken by someone other than me (There ARE quite a few nasty people in the profession as I lurking around here ;)).

Greenspun itself runs on an AOL server-based setup, in case you didnt know.

-- Krunch Kobra (??????@??????.???), December 30, 2001.

what Admin page? I am on an Admin. page? Someone turn on a light. I can't see.

-- (apples@night.com), December 30, 2001.

-- Tator (you@cant.resist), December 31, 2001.

No! He doesnt! Its lies, all lies!

Be good now, KK. I'm from the Government. I'm here to help.

-- Tator (you@cant.resist), January 01, 2002.

Cant trace me ......Neener, neener, Ne- Nerrrr .........=P

-- Bob Knob (Bob@Knob.com), January 01, 2002.

I'll tell you what, Bob. If you can infect me with a virus I will tell you your name, age, home address and phone number, and even your shoe size.

-- Tator (you@cant.resist), January 01, 2002.

Any takers? Anyone? Pleeease!!!

-- Tator (you@cant.resist), January 02, 2002.

You guys sound quite impressive! But can you tell me what you can actually do, because I'm a real hack, and I would also appreciate it if you didn't practice on the likes of me. I mean,,, I'm always in the mood for a decent debate, but I'll only post my thoughts, not deviant fantisies.

-- Damn Straight (conflict is O.K@@@@to a.pointtttt), January 02, 2002.

I'm good with Webpages and Virii creation/implantation. I can also bring up a lot of shit from your computer that you didnt know could be brought up.

Im also incredible with computer hardware/software design, upkeep. If you gotta problem, talk to me.

And MS-DOS, just because I am the god of this old dead operating system.

Bob here is pretty good too. He knows very much about computers, but seems to be more in the hardware area, talk to him about that. I know hes smart, however, so if Im not around, or if he happens to know more than me (you had better not, Knob ;)), talk to him.

Dont talk to Tator. He doesnt even have a computer. Just WebTv.

-- Krunch Kobra (??????@??????.???), January 02, 2002.

Well... Since he will never infect me with a computer virus I dont have to find out all those things. I only got the WebTV till I can afford a good comp. My cuz just got a Gateway. Pretty good for a ready built one. Has XP. Look at that as a smiley! XP is alright. He had me hook everything up for him. Easy. There is a lot I dont know how to do but I am better then most down here!

-- Tator (you@cant.resist), January 02, 2002.

Well I'm actually a programmer ...but I have my hobbies.

-- Bob Knob (Bob@Knob.com), January 12, 2002.

Tator ...You just don't know my man, first of all you got XP ... and thats your first mistake. Me, and any stupid kiddie could get on your puter un-traced, This is a seccrity flaw on XP, you could be hidding behinde a multi-proxy, masked IP numbers, and 20 firewalls, and still be hacked with out the inflictor being traced.

-- Bob Knob (Bob@Knob.com), January 12, 2002.

My cuz has XP! Not me. You cant do shit to me.

I don't buy any of it. I doubt there is even one TRUE hacker anywhere near this site.

I see no discussions about Linux, Unix, Perl, C++, Java, or OS 'sploits. All of which are favorite topics for hackers.

Running a tracert, or port surfing with a sniffer is not hacking. That's just a bunch of script kiddie play. I would be MORE than suprised if even ONE of you could tell me more about me than my OS (which you'll be wrong anyway) and my current connections IP...

Here's the challenge:

Tell me ONE file that is on my desktop.... then I'll believe.

You have your invite.

-- Last Name First, First Name Last (Kikkomans@subgumhoi.com), January 13, 2002.

Your IP is easy. Even I can do that! 165.121.212.133

-- Tator (you@cant.resist), January 13, 2002.

And I aint even got a 'puter!

-- Tator (you@cant.resist), January 13, 2002.

That IP changes every time I access...

Anyone can look up and IP.

The challenge was to get root and have a peek at my desktop.

-- Last Name First, First Name Last (Hiccup@JackDanials.net), January 13, 2002.

I cant really do shit. I never claimed to be able to. Like I said, I cant get a comp virus so I will never have to tell Bob Knob all those things. 'Kay?

-- Tator (you@cant.resist), January 14, 2002.

Yes, you CAN get a virus. If it is designed for the WebTV OS it will infect you. Any OS can be infected with a virus. It's up to the coder. If some goofy hack decided to code one for the WebTV OS and managed to get it to you, you'd get infected.

Never say never.

-- Last Name First, First Name Last (splash@beer.comma), January 14, 2002.

But I have no hard drive to save anything to! I am not saying youre wrong. I just dont see how they could. Maybe they could get the main server and make it to where we cant get online. The sole purpose for MSN TV.

-- Tator (you@cant.resist), January 14, 2002.

Have you ever upgraded your WebTV by going online gor the OS upgrade?

You may not have, but it can be done.

The reason it can be done online is because your OS can be altered if the correct procedure is followed.

Having, or not having a hard drive has nothing to do with virii and their abilities.

If Microsoft can alter your OS, don't you think a that a smart enough hacker could figure it out?

-- Last Name First, First Name Last (Happy@Hacker.org), January 14, 2002.

If people can program computers to play your all time favorite arcade video games, then trust me, they would be able to install a virus or worm into your computer, proxy and firewalls will be the best bet. By the way, you can get "Killer Instink" arcade version here http://ki.gamesite.at/

hi.

-- (applecomplex@piracy.com), April 26, 2002.

Hi there folks,

Just wondering if you can help me. Have had a few problems with a board moderator, who has openly admitted to being a hacker. I believe he has hacked into my computer before. But the thing is he denies that it is possible. Is it possible, can you explain how without getting too technical as I am a thicko when it comes to understanding all the jargon. Any advice would be great, this is the message I got from him (by the way he has often boasted that he has more than one computer and also previously has said that he can be seen to be in another country by his ISP or something like this), please give me some info. Not asking for anything that will get people into trouble just wish to know if he can access our computers and read our private data, and can he read our emails??? Thanks Folks! Will come back later for some advice hopefully. Best wishes June:-

All I can do is trace back the isp of each user of the surgery, in the case of ntl users only as far as the geographical proxy. I actually appear on here as being in dublin, whist in fact I am in Cambridgeshire. If you have adequate security in place, then nobody in the world will be able to access your pc. For the record, I would reccomend Zone Alarm, as it is about the most secure of the free firewalls out there, closely followed by black ice defender.
