How many of us....

I've noticed alot of christians here, but how many are pagan? Since we're on demographics, if you aren't christian or pagan, what is your faith? I'm just curious...

I have no named faith nor do I believe there is an enity in the treditional sense. I believe there is a Source, all this earth and critters had to come from somewhere. Just because the Chineese use the word Budda, The Arab use Allah, the Baptist use God, the Jamacians use Ja means nothing. There is one Source, all the different methods of worship is of humankinds doing; my communication with the Source comes from a walk in the forest.

Hey Folks,

Been a while. Holidays and all. Nice to be back though.

What is my faith? I believe pretty much as Mitch does. Something started it all that is obviously based in love, but then humans took over and decided to one-up each other by having the best "god". Kinda sad.

My walk comes with every breath. I actually collect artifacts and books on different religious theories, so I have a lot of symbols in my life. So far, I haven't found anything that a human hadn't decided to start. Except the Source, that is.

But, that kind of talk can get a nasty debate going and I'm a passive soul and refrain from doing that kind of harm to my psyche.

Like I said earlier, nice to be back. Hope everyone has a safe and rewarding New Year.

Iris

I've always found different religions fascinating, and don't mean to start a debate. I just thought it would be fun to see how many different beliefs are here on this forum; kind of a "unity in division" sort of thing.

Welcomeback Iris, I was wondering about you the other day. I have always been a person who could see many sides to an issue. I don't think there will be any trouble here with a kind discussion of your beliefs. And if there is any trouble I'll zap them!

LOL@Melissa! I know she'll zap any not nice posts!

I am a Christian, but have always found different beliefs interesting. I had a friend who is Wiccan, but I never found her beliefs ugly. In my family, we have Lutherans, Catholics and a Baptist or two. We don't say nasty things to one another about it...we respect their beliefs. I'm hoping this thread will be like that.

Hello Dawn,

I am a Scientologist. But, I do not support the atrocities that the "Church" of Scientology has propagated.

Sincerely,

Ernest

Oh, we're kind of a mixed bag here-I grew up Southern Baptist-VERY fundamental, lost a lot of that at college, took a lot of comparative religion courses-got an "A" in Myth, ritual and Christianity-that was a hard course, I'm very proud of that. My husband spent a year at Duke Divinity school at the masters level, we've bummed around Monestarys, joined the American Orthodox Church, but theres not one here, so we kind of make up our own services on Sundays. My SIL is a birthright Quaker and so a chunk of our family has gone that way.

Hi Dawn, I'm just getting caught up with the forums again after the "hollydaze". :) I'm a Celtic Reconstructionist Pagan, and my faith has been one of my major motivators in embracing the homesteading lifestyle.

I'm a lapsed Lutheran, used to be a practicing Wiccan, now I have followed the teachings of the Dali Lama for the past 20 plus years or so, so I guess that makes me a Buddhist.

Hi All, Well I've followed the way of zen since 1968 and my return from Vietnam, but as Mitch said, a walk in the woods does it for me. Daryll
