Incubator wanted

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

We are looking for a cabinet type incubator. New or used. We will be using it to incubate game bird eggs, so an egg turner that holds the smaller eggs is necessary. We live in Northeast Pa. Will travel to Ny, and within 4 hours drive.

I'd also appreciate any information of poultry equipment suppliers.

Thanks, Mary

Hi Mary. This is one of our favorite places to get poultry supplies. We've gotten both our incubators from them and also a lot of equipment too. Wonderful people to work with and they're great about answering questions too. http://www.poultrysupplies.com/

Mary, I am in Northwestern PA, not sure how far from you. I dont have a cabinet incubator but do have a small styrofoam one put what I am proposing is silkie chickens. They are the best at setting on eggs. They are constantly getting broody and will hatch out 99%. I have some real nice hens if you are interested. Plus I will throw in the incubator. I never use it since I have my silkies.

Thanks for the offer Tracy... I just got done saying the same thing to my husband! I'd love to have the chickens and save on the expense of an incubator. Unfortunately, we have large amounts of eggs to hatch and the poor chickens would not be able to keep up. They would look real cute with the tiny Quail chicks though!

I am not sure about how large you are talking. 10 silkies will hatch out 100 plus eggs. You dont have to do any work. Just feed and water. Before your hubby vetoes the idea contact me through email.

Hi Mary,

We order supplies from McMurray Hatchery in Iowa. You can order a catalog online. Cut and paste the following address. Sorry, have not yet spent the time figuring out how to set up links.
