Trying to Stay up Until Midnight

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Ok it is 11:25 and I am getting old I guess. I can barely keep my eyes open!! We had the chinese feast and sent a plate to the neighbor lady down the road. It was very good. Then we watched a story about Pearl Harbor, that was very interesting. then because I am trying to stay awake I watched a 48 Hours special about the Everybody Has A Story segment on CBS. Basically he goes to a town puts his finger on a name in the phone book and goes to these people to get their story. It is too cool! I always think this myself when I drive past peoples houses. Each and every one of them has hopes, dreams, problems, troubles, joys, ambitions, many many stories to tell. I continually get a lot of joy from people and their stories!

So now it is 11:29 and I still want to stay up for at least 31 more minutes. don't know why, but it is just tradition I guess. Oh well, I think I will put all my tomorrows posts up now, and sleep in a little in the morning!

Have a nice evening everyone!

Happy New Year! We stayed awake until about 10:00 and called it quits! We had a nice evening watching James Stewart's movie "Shenandoah" and snacking on yummy stuff. We talked about staying up later, but DH and I both have a few chores we want to accomplish today and we don't want to be tired. Also, I didn't want to over use my shoulder. I have a painful rotator cuff and am taking meds and going to physical therapy.

Well, hubby, myself and little neighbor went to church last night. Everyone brought stuff to eat and we played games and talked. We held out till about 10:00 and then came home.

I got a chuckle from the news report that, when asked what he planned to do New Year's Eve, President Bush replied, 'go to bed early'.

I don't know if that's a Texan thing or not, but I did the same;)
