Answers

is that board going to be all in caps also?

-- Stan (sopal@net-port.com), January 02, 2002.

Stan, are you really as miserable as you sound? EVERBODY knows Cordwoodguy has sight problems. He has to type in all caps to be able to read what he writes. WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE BESIDES JUST BEING NASTY?

-- Laura (lauramleek@yahoo.com), January 02, 2002.

no IM not,,its just such a pain in da AS* to read something in ALL caps,, if he needs the text bigger,,he can change it on HIS computer, under view tab,,text size,,, its real simple,, and a LOT less bothersome and everyone elses eyes.

-- Stan (sopal@net-port.com), January 02, 2002.

Stan,

It does not hurt my eyes to read Cordwoodguy's post.

Stan, you are truly on my nerves today! And if anyone is going to talk about things being a pain in the as* to read, I can hardly believe it would be you as you are seriously typing challenged,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!@!!!!

-- gilly (wayoutfarm@skybest.com), January 02, 2002.

gil,, my typeing is for the mentallity of people like yourself,, makes you feel,,"important" (or maybe,, impotent?)

-- Stan (sopal@net-port.com), January 02, 2002.

Duhh,uhhh...gee, good one, Stan. You sure made me look like a fool by typing so poorly.

-- gilly (wayoutfarm@skybest.com), January 02, 2002.

STAN, why did you get "roasted" a couple weeks ago? Can you say "acid mouth"?? HINT, HINT!!??

-- mitch hearn (moopups@citlink.net), January 02, 2002.

THANKS CORDWOOD GUY, I'LL CHECK IT OUT. I APPRECIATE YOU GIVING SOMETHING BACK TO THE FORUM.

-- laura (lauramleek@yahoo.com), January 02, 2002.

My we are feeling a bit edgy today, aren't we???

I have gotten used to CWG's caps, but everyone is entitled to an opinion. Stan, if it really bothers you, why not pass over his participation in threads.

I have read on his board that he can read replies with no problem, as he can get close to the monitor. He hopes to buy a larger monitor. He must sit back to use his keyboard, thus his poor sight is then a hindrance. Others use lower case on his board.

I tried the view adjustment (in Netscape holding down control and touching the bracket key several times). It will will give you a large font, but also can move text "off of the screen" necessitating using a horizontal scroll bar (spelled PAIN).

man I only look on this sight like every once in a while maybe twice a month, and I think th elast time i looked on here or longer seems like well over a month ago I remember hearing the same argument about this guy using caps,, man ,,,,if he needs it to see let him alone,, we will all be old soon enough.. sorry had to put my 2 cents in,

-- wowee (extruckeruhoh@yahoo.com), January 02, 2002.

You people really have too much time on your hands.

-- David (daoelker@seidata.com), January 03, 2002.

SORRY...BUT IN TIME AS YOU ALL AGE, YOUR EYES WON`T BE AS SHARP AS THEY ONCE WERE EITHER.WHEN YOU FIND YOURSELF SQUINTING YOU ARE GETTING CLOSE. THANKS TO THOSE WHO SPOKE IN DEFENCE OF THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED I FIND UPPERCASE TO BE MORE LEGABLE THAN LOWER CASE.EVEN WITH A MAGNIFYING GLASS I FIND SOME LOWER CASE LETTERS TEND TO BLEND INTO EACH OTHER.[rn]LOOKS LIKE [m].THE HARDEST THINGS FOR ME TO READ ARE E-MAIL ADDRESSES.HALF THE TIME I GUESS AND I`M USING A MANIFYING GLASS. BE FOREWARNED MY BOARD IS IN CAPITALS WHEN I POST.A FEW PRINT IN CAPITALS FOR ME BUT I DON`T REALLY NEED THAT.AS FOR POSTS BY OTHERS I USUALLY USE A MAGNIFYING GLASS TO READ.I EXPECTED TO DO THIS.BUT MY CAPITALS ARE WHAT I HAVE TO USE.[SOMEWHERE ON THE NET I MIGHT HAVE PRINTED SOMETHING SHORT IN LOWER CASE WITH OUT HAVING TO EDIT IT.]

CWG, I ENJOY YOUR POSTS, TOO. BUT WHY CAN'T YOU JUSTS TYPE YOUR POSTS INTO MICROSOFT WORD, OR SOME OTHER PROGRAM, EVEN YOUR EMAIL PROGRAM, PERHAPS. WHEN YOU POST IT TO THIS, OR OTHER GREENSPUN, BOARS, IT WILL AUTOMAGICALLY BE POSTED IN "THIS" SIZE.

IT DOESN'T BOTHER ME TO READ ALL CAPS, BUT OBVIOUSLY, SOME FOLKS ARE "SENSITIVE NEW AGE MALES"

-- joj (jump@off.c), January 04, 2002.

I typed this using a 24 point font in my e-mail program. This is a 36 poiny font. Let me copy it and see how it looks pasted on greenspun!

Well JOJ you were right it shrunk it back down over here.

-- Rick (Rick_122@hotmail.com), January 05, 2002.

Give the guy a break.

Why make Cordwoodguy deal with all of that when he already apparently has enough hassle to deal with? I highly doubt it's going to hurt anyone here to read his posts in caps. If you're really that sensitive, then pass them over. I actually find caps much easier to read in some settings. In most apps I find a black background/lime fonts easier to read. But it really isn't a major deal. I find it amusing that anyone would make a big deal over caps or even considering it 'shouting'. I've been on the online since 1200baud and I still think to equate caps with shouting is silly and oversensitive. If it causes you that much disruption, please go here; http://www.internetaddiction .com/

The world is full of different languages and written characters and it seems a bit nit-picky to get upset over capitalization.

Cordwoodguy, I appreciate your posts. Type them out in whatever way is easiest for you.
