The New York Post is reporting that pop singing group 'N Sync is set to appear in the upcoming Star Wars flick Episode Two: Attack of the Clones. Star Wars fan sites are buzzing with the news. According to the story, George Lucas is putting the boys in the film to please his two daughters, who are big fans of the group.

Justin, Chris, JC, Joey and Lance reportedly appear for just a split second, as anonymous Jedi Knights in a huge battle scene. Then, they get blown up by "battle droids."

Music Web site sonicnet is reporting that a spokesperson for Lucasfilm has confirmed that, quote, "a few of the 'N Sync guys will appear in Star Wars - Episode II: Attack Of The Clones." The spokesperson reportedly didn't know which members of the group would be in the film, only that they will be in, quote, "a big scene with lots of extras."

To quote Ardie in WI: "Oy vey!"

I guess it was only a matter of time before something like this occured.

Well... I guess it's not ALL bad...

You mean N'Sync aren't droids?

LOL! LOL! LOL!

Always a silver lining, eh, Jimbo?

Hope my buddy Jon doesn't hear about this; I had trouble enough getting him to go with me to the LAST one. May have to find me someone even younger to drag off to this one...

My Solution: Ignore this movie, go see Fellowship of the Rings again!

:-D

If they get wiped out by the battle droids would they then be X'stinked ? :>)

You guys are too funny!!!!

Joy, I'd go see 'Rings' again rather than this! (However, I was plagued by nightmares last night...couldn't sleep! I was chased by a creature that looked like that monstrous goblin in the mines!)

By the way, I have a crush on the elf that was in the fellowship (what was his name? I don't think I still have the books)....it's that long blonde hair thing, I guess........

As for Star Wars, well, good grief! What's next? Brittany Spears in it? Sheesh!

Maybe this is what causes Anakin to go to the Dark Side!

You might be onto something there, Sherri!

I heard (on teevee) last night that the 'N Sync guys got cut from the movie. Apparently Star Wars "purists" protested so loudly that George Lucas got the message.

(Who says watching teevee doesn't teach us anything worthwhile?..)

Unfortunatley Lucas Films is denying this rumor. According to their spokesperson, the decision about N Sync won't be made until George Lucas does the final edit of the film. They are only doing preliminary editing right now, the final edit won't come for quite some time.

No 'N Sync?

Oh, well, if they're just extras in the background, who cares? Really, they are people, after all, and if they got a kick out of being extras, what's the big deal? All their little screamy-bopper fans can have fun trying to spot them, and moaning about how they did or didn't see them, and no one else will even notice.

Oh Joy, if only it were that easy... I live with one of those "Star Wars Purists". Keith subscribes to at least 2 fan magazines and several websites. He has every Star Wars book and novel published in English (and a few in German), 4 lightsabers (3 Jedi-style and 1 double-bladed Sith-style), many of the action figures, the movies on both VHS and DVD, and he can speak the language that Jabba the Hut uses. Not to mention the complete Jedi costume I made for him for Halloween this year. Trust me, in the world of the Star Wars geeks, this is *a very big deal*!

Gods help me! :)

Well, Sherri, I would point out to the "purist" that none of those people are actually the characters that they are portraying! Geeze, Ewan MacGregor has his screamy bopper fans as well -- should he be excluded from the movies? Liam Neeson has legions of drooling (if not screaming) fans -- should they have left him out? Just MY thoughts on the matter.
