Hi everyone; I have a huge prayer request we have two kids in college son just started and daughter in out of state bible college. Son can't work due to a birth defect and has no source of income at this time, waiting for social security but it hasen't kicked in yet. This non working issue has come up rather suddenly he has always made a good living and supported himself. And I am now supporting his efforts to go to college rather than live on social security all his life. In the mean time he has no income and I am paying his bills living expenses and college costs he will eventually get financial aid but that is a long time comming. Daughter is in bible college out of state this is the best investment I have ever made and she is working and helping with costs. In the mean time I have to come up with $3100. extra dollars this month to meet tuition costs and bills. I have lived on faith for many years and have always been happy and impressed with how the Lord provides and I know we will pull through this also but I would appreciate knowing that you guys are out there thinking about us and lifting us up in prayer. thanks I think I can go to sleep now. Ronda

You will certainly be in our prayers. Since it is a special circumstance will the college work with you in any way? Maybe until he starts to get his SS? There may be special programs set up for just these kinds of cases, or they may let you make payment arrangements. I hope this helps a little.

Yes, I will certainly be thinking of you and praying for you-I know what its like trying to pay that tuition! Melissa has a good idea-see if the college has any finacial packages-I got into a similar bind my senior year and the finacial people showed me a scholarship that was tailer made for me.

You and your family will be in my prayers! I know first hand about having to come up with money on faith! But I will say God has never let me down and he will always provide!God Bless

Ronda, hurrah for you and your family supporting the efforts of your children to go to college. My niece (by marriage) had two parents both working and earning good money, but she had to take out student loans to pay for her schooling, and it will be several years yet before they are paid off.

Know you will get through this, and I will pray for your peace of mind.

Ronda, of course you are in my prayers, knowing that the Lord will point you in the right direction...We have our youngest son in college in Philadelphia where he is a Junior at Drexel University..when he first started there, I was working and $$$$$ wasn't an issue....now that it IS an issue (and a rather large one at that), I called the President of the university and had a lovely chat with him, explaining our circumstances and how we could not pay upfront and then wait for the financial aid to kick in later.....he was delightful! We worked out a plan where the university would make an exception and my son could enroll in his classes without a problem...Folks are mostly willing to work with parents on these problems (at least I have found it to be so)...I would advise you to go ahead and talk with the top person at the college..he or she would surely be impressed with your son's decision to get out there and "DO" instead of giving up..BTW, I am impressed!!!! What a swell kid you have there! And, what a great parent you are! Here's a big cyber hug for you ........God bless.
