Shredded copier paper (inked) for compost?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

The thread below on newspaper for horse bedding made me wonder about using all the shredded paper from work for composting. Are the inks toxic? What about colored paper?

This shredded paper is great for starting the wood stove, but what do you think about composting it?

Thank you.

I use it for composting. Also worms love it in worm bins. People use Newpappers for weed control. Might not be a good idea for chicken though, I haven't thought about it for the coop until just this moment. Makes for good insulation in temporary cardboard walls (like in the shop, and chicken coop) That's my $.02 worth. Have a good day.
