Hi! Since we got 6 inches of snow yesterday my husband is looking for a recipe for snowcream. Anyone knows what goes in it? Thanks again Karen S. in NC

My mom used to make that, but only when it snowed real deep; too much pollution otherwise.

Just a bit of caution here. In the immortal words of Frank Zappa, "Watch out where the Huskies go... And don't you eat that yellow snow..." ;o)

Karen, don't have a 'how much of what recipe' I do it like my Mother did. Scoop a big bowl of clean snow, add a beaten egg or two, dribble some vanilla in it, and sometimes dribble a bit of cream (depends if I have any at the time or not, have use just milk).....real easy to fix if you get too much of something, cause you can go and get more snow:)

I forgot----a bit of sugar...start of with a couple of tablespoons and add to taste.

If you want a quick and easy way to make a little bit, just add some condensed, sweetened milk to the snow.

We used evaporated milk and sugar and vanilla. I like the sweetened condensed milk idea too!

if you use an egg - which does make it better! - mix your egg, cream or milk and sweetener [I like honey] in a blender. so easy, good and fun!

I have always heard NEVER eat the first snow. Because it has a lot of air borne pollutants.

Snow, milk, sugar and vanilla flavoring. Wife said test to your taste. :o)

We always make yellow snow ice cream...the kids get a kick out of it and I have a warped sense of humor!!!

You all need to expand your tastes! You can use any type of extract to make any flavor you want. Put some mint extract and add chocolate sauce and you have chocolate mint snow ice cream. Lemon extract is nice also. I haven't tried it, but I bet Tang would make an orange- sherbert kind of flavor (do they still make Tang?!). What other flavors have you folks tried (other than vanilla)?
