Diamond V Yeast

I'm curious about Diamond V Yeast. I've checked out their website, but there are several products offered. Do you supplement their feed with this, or have it loose, free choice? What benefits does it provide? Anyone ever tried the human version?

I will have to visit their website and check on the human kind. I have used it for years on my milkers. We do use it when we purchase a kid or adult to move them from their old grain to the new grain. It allows the goat to eat more grain without upsetting their rumen by first buffering it, but then also by adding millions of beneficial bacteria to it, which of course break down the rumen contents faster. We really see the difference when we feed it at the end of pregnancy and to them when first fresh. Lots of times they are consuming so much grain that they will be pooping dog poop. No more with the yeast. It is also great to sprinkle overtheir feed when it is nasty outside and they aren't getting alot of exercise or roughage from the pasture/woods. I keep it out free choice alongside their minerals, or sprinkle it over the grain. I have even used a laundry scoop and put it onto of their grain on the milkstand, they like it! All the literature shows that it increases milk, butterfat, eggs, weight, but also works better if side by side with a bicarbonate. I even have used this in the lambar, on the days they are wormed or sulfaed. Vicki
