Update on sick goatgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Dairygoats : One Thread
I gave Baby Probios yesterday , last night I gave her some more and also yogurt. Her poop is back to pills. She is shivering alittle more than the other goats. She has a discharge but her tail bone doesn't seem to be as soft as it should be. This morning I gave her some more Probios, she ate some alfalfa pellets and a nibble or two of calf manna. We were able to get a couple tablespoon of cud from another goat and put that in her mouth. She also drank alot of water both last night and this morning. She was chewing her cud but very rapid, like bring a mouthful up chew a couple minutes and back down when I come from the barn . If I need to do any thing else please let me know. Thanks so much for all the advice

New update, Baby has a huge buckling. Our first kid of the year. She seems to be okay. I just took her a bowl of warm sweet oatmeal. Any and all advice welcome. Hum what will I name him. Baby looks like she is a saanan donkey cross and her new son has inherited her big ears.

Congrats!! You could name him after the donkey from the movie Shrek (I don't remember his name). If you've seen the movie you'll understand. :o) Trying to picture a goat with donkey ears made me immediatly think of the movie.

The donkey's name in Shek was "Donkey" LOL I alway thought if I had a donkey I would name him Tingo layo (sp?) after the song. Congratulations on your first kid of the year. I have till April for our first ones to be born. Glad momma is doing well.
