Dee's Polymer Clay

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

Hi Dee,

I tried uploading your images to Brinkster (where are photo album is hosted) but had major headaches with trying to get the pictures to upload.

So I decided to crop and compress the images so they would load faster and then uploaded them to the BTS Portal.

Here are the links:

I *really* liked the clay rendition of your son, Gary. Are those his socks and shoes laying next to the figure's bare feet? It looks like you even made blue jeans for him! What detail!

As for the dragon, I tried tweaking the brigntness and contrast levels on the dragon images but just couldn't do much to fix those levels. If you take any more pictures of the dragon after it's fired I'd love to see them. It looks like it has a lot of detail, too.

The reindeer is just plain cute. :-)

Hey Jim,

Only the first picture was accessable. You did better then me with it though. I'm still trying to do it how Chuck showed us.

Yes, those were socks and slippers. I wanted to show his feet since it was my first feet I did. Did you notice the TV remote and Sprite in his hands? The others I did after came out alot better. I'll have to get pictures of them. The ones I took didn't come out so well.

I have since gotten a pasta making machine that makes it so much easier to work the clay. Before, I flatten it with my fingers, then smoothed it out after putting it on the foil.

It's an addicting hobby.

Ok, I went in and wrote a little HTML page and we'll try linking to that. Let me know if that works, ok?

Yes, I can't get over how much work you put into this little guy! I hope you take more pictures of your work. I don't have any pictures of anything I've done (I've mainly been working in jewelry). After I get a digital camera I plan on photographing some of my projects.

I have one, too. And yes, it makes conditioning a LOT easier. It's great for jewelry work, too...

I agree completely. There a lot of great books (and videos) out there on the subject, too. Quite a few new ones coming out this year...

Sorry, reindeer didn't come out but the rest did.

I got a cheap (under $50) digital camera from Walmart. It only takes 8 pictures but for what I use it for, it's enough.
