Hi guys

I have a ring called 14165 (see earlier) to hold filters. Now I have told it should consist of two parts between which you mount the filter.

On the outside from top to bottom I have a +/-1mm ring with full grip a +/-3mm ring partly grip/partly text 14165 made in Germany VIII and the +/-4m screw thread

On the inside First from thin to thick, matching the angle of the lens than 2mm that is thinner than the thickest part of the above part and than again a thicker part. something like this \

Well, Reinier, you've got me stumped. Do those dimensions refer to the thickness of the rings?

This wouldn't be a lens hood that retains a filter, would it? Or else two-part a filter retaining ring for series filters?

Can you get someone to scan the drawing and post it?

All the Leitz/Leica adapters for series filters that have come with my lenses have been one piece. I do not use series filters so beyond that I cannot say more. Why not go to your local emporium of used photographic paraphernalia and get a series filter and try it out?
