Ida Early Children's books

Spent 25 cents at a used book sale for a cut e children's books called Christmas with Ida Early by Robert Burch. From what I can tell, this is the sequel to Ida Early Comes over the Mountain. I don't know if there are others in the series.

It's a cute book taking place in Georgia during the depression. A family is without a mother and is being taken care of by 'Ida Early'. She's humorous and practical and always tries to find the best in people.

My daughters read one of these not long ago, and I read it too. It was a nice story.

When I was about 10 my mother bought me two "Jennifer" books at a garage sale. They take place in about the 1910's, and are wonderful! I wish I could find more of them -- the inside cover indicates there are about 3 or 4 I don't have. They are so sweet, and it's nice to see books where there's no guns, death, pregnancy, etc.
