What time do you get up

Just curious - what time do you get up, and what time do you go to sleep?

I have school every morning. Its really a wonderful thing that i'm an OAC ( stands for Ontario Academic Credits,or some sort of thing), and usually that means more priviledges. I have the priviledges of sleeping in a little later than normal, so i can be ten minutes late for class. Its Horrible, I know. SO usually this time means about eightish. In about two weeks, it will no longer be so. But i have horrible sleeping habits!

Hubby works different shifts & different hours---so we are usually never on the hours as the majority of the rest of the world---- it is different almost each day of the week--- I try to keep some of his hours so we can see each other & be together --& me still be able to do other things-- Just wish people would NOT ignore the sign on our front door that reads "DAY SLEEPER"!!!!!

4:45am, pack 2 lunches, do laundry, on the road 6:15. Get back home between 3:30-4:30. To bed around 10. I am a teacher and commute 30 miles to a larger place for BETTER pay...it's good!! My son go to school in a small rural school where we live.

I rise at 515 am and travel 30 minutes to work from 630 to 530 am, 4 days a week.

During overtime it is rise at 445 am, and work from 6 am to 7 pm, 4 days, and 6 to 11 am on friday.

We also live around DH's schedule. Go to bed around 1:00 am and get up around 10:00 am.

Since we homeschool the girls schedules revolve around their Dad also. So that they can spend time with him before he goes to work.

We also eat our main of the day around 1:00 pm.

My husband is an odd-shifter, too, but my kids wake me up every morning between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m., like clockwork) so I try to roll out of bed around 5, just to get the coffee going. Bedtime (for the kids) is 8 and mine comes between 10 and 11, depending on if I can put down whatever I'm doing that day.

Brazilians are late-nighters, hard to see someone here call it quits before midnight. I like to sleep by 10:30, but it's usually 11:00 or 11:30 before I can get to bed, often even later. Uptime usually depends on where I've been the night before; often out for studies or such. But average is usually between 6-7 a.m. This week it's more like 8-9 a.m.! I'm still getting over jet lag....

I get up at 6:00am even if I'm not awake! I am usually in bed by 10 and read for 1/2 to 1 hour. I don't mind mornings, but I am usually in the most pain then. I don't see how sleeping all night can make you hurt so much! Once I am in bed I sleep pretty soundly. But if I wake up I usually don't fall back to sleep!

Depends on what time of year. Generally between 4:30 -6:00. I figure if I sleep past 6, I've missed half the day. Even when I was working til 11, I'd go home and right to bed and be up most day by 5:30. We go to bed anywhere between 7p.m. and 9:00. We even stayed up til after 11 recently. through my whole life off.

We generally get up at 4:30. We sometimes sleep a bit later on the weekends. However, we have not been getting to bed until after 10, and it is killing me!! =)

Depends on what's going on in the barn. The last couple weeks I've been out of bed by 5AM and to the barn, sometimes in my pj's under the snow suit, checking for new babies. Bought some ewe's that were bred and they have been lambing since January 6. Pretty cold here so I'm watching them closely. Last check before bed is midnight (sometimes this is a struggle to stay awake till then) just to be sure. Not that it's made a difference so far, babies have been laying there looking at me each morning!

During non lambing time I'm pretty much up with the sun and after working outside all day it's a challenge to stay up till dark. Husband works in town and he's up and gone by 7AM and home at 4:30 and to bed by 9:00, after sleeping in his lazyboy half the night. Some people just require more sleep than others and we are total opposites, he's morning, I'm night. No kids to get me up, just three bannie roosters that need a class in time telling. Crowing all hours of the night!!

When I worked at the hospital I got up at 5AM and hated it!!! I am not a early morning person! For the life of me, I don't see how anyone can get up at 4:30 (CINDY!!!) and function. It's still dark! I need daylight to function, just like a chicken!!! I usually get up earlier in summer because it gets light earlier but this time of year I'm doing good if I get up by 7:30. There are still the same number of hours in the day whether you get up at 5 or 9!! I just go to bed later, I never get to bed before 11PM and usually it's 11:30. If I don't get my 8 hours of shut-eye, I feel horrible. I can get up real early if I have to but if I don't have to, I won't!

We get up at 5:00 or 6:00, depending on where DH is working. I remember getting up at 4:00 for years before he got this job! Three days a week, DH drives 90 miles to his office so we try to get to bed early those evenings. What I hate are those times when I wake up at 2:00 or so and can't sleep. I get up and go on the computer, then try to sleep in a recliner for a bit. It makes for a long night. And, just when I'm finally sleeping, the alarm goes off!

-- Ardie/WI (ardie54965@hotmail.com), January 16, 2002.

Hi Katie, I usually get up about 5:30. I love to get up before anyone else. I make a pot of coffee and usually check out the forums. It's so peaceful here in the mornings. My quiet time I guess. A few weeks ago, I stayed up real late and didn't get up the usual time. My dogs about went crazy jumping up on the bed and waking me up. I guess they thought something was wrong with me because I wasn't up yet. Dave had already let them out so I know that wasn't it. I guess they were worried about me. They wouldn't let me sleep even if I wanted too!

The alarm goes off at 4:45am and hubby's gone by 5:30. I make lunches, do barn chores and I leave for work at 6:30. We're home by 4-4:30 depending on the weather. Try to be in bed by 9-10pm. When goats start kidding in March, I'm sure the times will change. I, too hate getting up in the dark. And I have stupid roosters too.

-- Charleen in WNY (harperhill@eznet.net), January 16, 2002.

Hi Annie: My cat does the same thing your dogs do! The animals just have a strong body clock I guess. As for the rooster comments, ours begin at about 3 a.m.

Lance gets up at 5:00 if he swims before work, 6:00 if he doesn't. I am NOT a morning person, so I usually don't get up until between 7:00 and 7:30 (I leave to take Mitch to school about 8:15, so I try to get up before I get him up).

I don't usually go to bed until 10:30 or so, occasionally later if Lance is at work. If he's home, a little earlier.

up by 4:30 am,get showered then get DH up and we are both gone by 5:20. I come home from driving bus by 9:20 and do chores till 11:40 then go back to pick up my sweet little bus riders. Home by 4:30 pm get dinner ready and then get DH from second job by 7:00 pm. We are in bed by 10:00-10:30 pm!!!!!

I TRY to go to bed by 10:00. Often don't make it till 11:00 or sometimes later. Am always up by 5 or earlier during the week, sometimes get to sleep in till 5:30 or 6:00 on the weekend. If I wake up (from pain) anywhere from 2:30 a.m. on, I usually can't get back to sleep. I really need more sleep as my physical problems get worse when I don't have adequate rest. With all our animals, plus caring for my 3 yo granddaughter, it seems sleep ends up on the bottom of the priority list. And when dh and I are the most tired is ALWAYS when a horse gets out at 2 a.m., or a goat decides to get sick. I think it's Murphy's Law for Homesteaders.
