What sport has the largest loss of life ratio?

Offhand, I'd say NASCAR racing. But we need a little more of a hint, Mitch. Is this something that is broadcast regularly, or some obscure thing that only natives in Borneo compete in?

This is a commom American sport.~

Baseball, I am thinking of the large number of children who participate. There are many injuries and deaths, more than we realize. One of the life threatening injuries is taking a ball directly to the chest, which is why many kids now wear a chest protector right over their heart.

My guess would be football. During the summertime, we hear of many heat stroke victims, some of which who die. Professionals, high school players, it doesn't seem to matter. Heat stroke kills.

Direct hint: this sport is played with a ball!! Approach this question with logic.~

Then i would have to say Soccer, because of all the "riot" type things that happen.

While the sport and soccor are both played in America and Europe, the riots are more of a Europian thing.

Basketball has had a large number of deaths in the last few years. Is the death associated with the use of the ball or does it not have any correlation to the answer? Polly

Golf! Lots of older people, possible over exertion, leading to heart attacks when out on the green

Correct, and more lighting striks also.

New question: The 2000 census gives us 103,874,000 of these which are ________________?

Mitch---- I think it is the lost census takers /they have not been able to relocate--or they have not been able to find their way home yet!! Just a joke!!

Did I get it right???? I am amazed!!

Mitch I really appreciate all the time you take to pull these together. It is really neat that you do it every day without fail. I think I am going to give you a raise, especially if I keep getting the answers right!

Melissa, I think what it is that you are learning to think like a man - with logic. A golf course is usually populated with older people, those more likely to suffer from physical activities, heat stroke, heart attacks, ect. There are thousands of golf courses with filled reservation books, hundreds of golfers per day every day, which adds up to many million per year. More golfers per day than entire members of football and baseball leagues, of course there is going to be more deaths.

Now, about that number......?

103,874,000 is the number of households in the US.

THINK LIKE A MAN????????????????????? Mitch, I believe that home made chili thing went to your head and caused you to make a faux pas there kiddo. Women do not THINK logically??????? A simple apology will do, no need to bow and scrape here..we are all entitled to a small error in judgement or a slip of the tongue occasionally.LOL

Thanks Mitch, I thought maybe you were making them easy for us!

-- Melissa (me@home.net), January 17, 2002.

Think like a man????? I don't see any reason for you to insult Melissa like that! LOL!

What do fox paws have to do with anything? At last I see some progress here and am told I am insulting someone when I am giving a complement!! You all go get yourselves some shoes and i will post instructions about what to do with them!!__o__^..^__o__
