My question is, is there a noticeable difference when using Ilford filters with lford paper rather than Kodak filters with Ilford paper?

The exposure time will differ. I think that it will take less time for grade 4 and above with Kodak filters.

Ilford's are better matched throughout the filters as far as time goes. Your better off.

No, there should not be any noticeable difference.

You may notice a slight difference in grade spacing, but it is so minor that I would not recommend replacing the filters just because of that reason. If you are going to buy new filters, I would recommend getting the same brand as the paper you plan to use the most.

Note that any brand filters will fade with use, and will need to be replace on occasion. If you print a lot with one or two filters, you may need to replace them every 1-2 years. If you notice your spacing gets really odd, then it is most likely due to fading of some of the filters.
