Egg experiment for homeschoolers

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

We recently did this experiment. Place an egg in a jar, add white vinegar and watch the shell slowly dissolve away over the next couple of days. Then you are left with an egg that has no shell but is still contained within its membrane, also the egg will look larger than it was originally.

Next we are going to do the amazing shrinking egg experiment, so save the above egg for this. I'll post this once I've looked up how to do it again.

Try bouncing your egg. But not from too high. About 6-12 inches. My kids still like doing this even after they've seen it several times!!!

now, years ago, I read about getting a "calcium" tincture out of ground up eggshells in cidervingar and taking it daily for a good source of calcium....hm....
