It's crazy around here!

Good morning everyone, I hope. Well I think that my animals have cabin fever. The ewe had one of the laying chickens by the tail and was swinging it around and around, she now doesn't have any long tail feathers left. The alpine goat ran to see what was up and took a mouthfull of long wool off the sheep which she did eat, the dog got in the middle and got broadsided by another goat and the cats were fighting and one now has a small puncture which will probably have to go the vet. The husband left grumpy to work and my daughter is being a nornal 4 year old who needs all my attention and I'm sitting here wondering if I check into a looney bin would they throw the key away? I really hope that everyone is having a good morning!

Oh Shari! The fact that you wrote it for us to see means you'll be fine! What a site, though! Hang in there....it'll get better. Cara

How does it get better than that? Except for grumpy hubby but he was off to work not coming home from!

Just to give you a little extra laugh Shari, one day when I was young, we heard a terrible ruckus coming from the chicken pen, and daddy and I went out to find one of the young roosters running around squawking as loudly as chickenly possible! This was due to the ginuea hen who had attached herself to his long tail feathers and was floating along with her wings open, putting a foot down about every 5 to 6 foot to stay afloat, getting herself a free ride! It was a long time before I ever laughed that hard again!

Shari. I have often thought on day's like your having to fake chest pains so I could go to the hospital check into intensive care for twenty four hours just for the peace. just kidding, think of the memories your making

Shari, did you double check which bucket the moonshine got poured into! LOL! It must've been a sight for you, but it sure did give me a belly laugh! If you got that on tape, send it into funniest home (stead) videos!

No wonder the hubby was grumpy ....all that good moonshine.... ;-)

Well I have mellowed out and the animals are all seperated! Took my frustration out on the garden. It still had last years weeds in it. The poor kitty has a scratched eye so now I have to put medication in it 2 times a day. The hen that the sheep grabbed is walking around this afternoon after sitting in a nest all day acting like she was dead. The goats are tucked in for the night and I can sit here and drink my tea and chuckle over how much fun farm animals can be. It's easier to smile after I thought about it and then reread my earlier post when I was still upset. :) Enjoy your animals and kids everyone. Oh I guess I better enjoy the husband also or he will feel left out. haha

Shari, Just another day in paradise!

A couple of weeks ago my oldest daughter gave me a couple of 7 week old beagle puppies. At first the puppies were scared to death of the chickens, and the chickens were scared to death of the puppies.

Since then they have gotten use to each other. The hens have put the puppies in their pecking order. Some of them will absolutly chase down the puppies if they get in their way.

Well this evening one of the puppies had found a bone to chew on. He started chewing and chewing on this bone. One of my RIR roosters saw that he had something to eat, so he came over cautiously to try and steal whatever the puppy had. But this puppy was not going to give up his bone to nobody. Next thing I knew the fight was on. First time I had ever seen a puppy and a rooster fight. Sadly to say, that little puppy was no match for a full grown RIR rooster. After a minute or so of fighting that puppy stuck his tail between his legs and ran for cover. All for a bone that the rooster couldn't eat.
