Celebration of Roman Rite in TN?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Does anyone know of a Roman rite celebrated in central TN? I know of one in Memphis, and Franklin, but how about around Cookeville or Lebanon? Thank you.

Hi Judy,

I would suggest going to www.masstimes.org You can search by zip code or name of city for all Catholic Churches in that area. You can also dial 1-800-MASSTIMES.

Check at www.korrnet.org/uvknox/. This is the Knoxville chapter of Una Voce, an international organization that has labored for 40 years in support of the Roman Rite and the Tridentine Mass. There are Una Voce chapters thoughout the U.S and abroad (Una Voce was started in France in 1964). Also, at Una Voce's home page, www.unavoce.org, hit the LIturgy link, or go directly to www.unavoce.org/liturgy.htm. There you can find a link to a Global Registry of Churches offering the Tridentine Mass. For the USA, the site is at www.geocities.com/~caritasdei/usa.htm. Good luck. Paul King Washington DC

Another good way is to use,

www.switchboard.com

Choose "find a business"

Enter "Churches-Catholic" as your business, enter city and state, choose "sort by distance", and check the box that says, "Include surrounding areas"

It will list 11 churches within 25 miles of Lebanon TN, from closest to furthest, listing address and phone number for each. Then you can go to www.google.com and pull up the web site for the diocese to get mass times. In this case it is the Diocese of Nashville. Or the parish may have a web page of its own, or just call them.
