Newcastle flop Marcelino a target for Mallorca

Real Mallorca are hopeful of securing former player Marcelino from Newcastle United. From Tribal Football

The big centre-half has struggled with injury for the past year and Newcastle are keen to offload him.

Mallorca aim to bring Marcelino back to the club and also remain interested in Real Madrid wing-back Ivan Kampo.

Club president Mateo Alemany is confident of signing the defender, though his high wage demands may prove a stumbling block.

We'll be lucky to get anything for him anyway, ciara. Clubs realise we are desperate too offload his wages, and will take advantage of that situation. In this regard, recent publicity over the Toon taking legal advice concerning the possibility of sacking him, and the resulting PFA pronouncements, will have done us no good whatsoever.

I reckon we'll do well to get £1m for the b@st@rd, and even then his wages will present a major hurdle - quite possibly meaning we have to let him go on a free anyway!

I reckon his contract should be reassigned to Ruud Gullit's account - the other 'tosser' in this astonishingly bad situation.
