home grown lemons

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Cooking & Crafts : One Thread

This morning I juiced four lemons from our tree and got THREE CUPS of juice. I put it in a quart jar, added 2/3 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of cherry syrup. When you want a fresh cherry lemonade, put 1/2 cup of the mixture in a glass, top with water and ice, stir.

HEAVEN!!

Hey, I had a lemon tree for several years and all I ever got from it was pricks from the thorns that grow on the tree. My dad finally said he was tired of bending over and getting stuck by that silly lemon tree. By the way I'm from Texas and I really don't think they will grow here. But, good luck if you find a tree.
