Mirror MountThere are many ways to mount or hang mirrors. Weight is the main consideration. Make sure the hanger and what it is hanging from the hanger will provide adequate support. If the mirror is to be permanently attached, use mirror mastic as other adhesives may attack the backside of the mirror and leave blemishes. Also protect the back of the mirror from being scratched by any hanging hardware.
Acclimate Thy Stuff
Building materials, especially wood, need to acclimate to the environment in which they will be used. If building materials have been stored outside or in a warehouse, then they must be given time to adjust to the humidity and temperature of the environment in which they will be installed. Flooring and trim are the most critical, but it's good for you to have all building materials in place for several days before installation
Job Protection
Remodeling? It is not uncommon that the mess from a project or repair takes on a life of its own. Before you get started, consider covering up surfaces to protect them and move things out of the way that you want to protect. You should close off all unaffected areas, including shutting and sealing supply and return air vents. Bottom line: Take a little time to plan out the logistics of a project, including coping with the mess and damage that may be a byproduct of the project.
