Help with pies

Does anyone have any ideas for something to do with pies from the grocery store? Except dive them to the chickens or hogs? I have some and hate to throw them out but noone will eat them. Cindy

Any homeless people in your area, or needy families?

I have no problem giving any left-overs or items my family wont eat to the animals. They deserve a treat every now and then, and it can't be considered a waste, since they give you things in return.

I worked in a soup kitchen, and most wont accept food itmes that aren't new or have been opened. I would call first.

I worked at Mrs. Smith's years ago. They used to open the pie back up and use the filling.

Do you mean RE-USE the filling? My God, it's no wonder store bought pies are good only for hungry animals. I consider them animal food under any circumstances. And I just know they do not use lard in the crusts, which is why they are so dreadful in that respect. GL, and make your own or go without!

Darn I had visions of you needed help as you had homemade pies on the window sill and needed help eating them. With my diet I can't have fat so my solution wouldn't help me but I bet a pig would like the pies even with out nightmare whip ok you might find it named dream whip.

Poor pigs (!). I tried to eat a store-bought pumpkin pie once. I LOVE pumpkin pie. I will eat two or three all by myself, right out of the pan, every Thanksgiving. I got one bite about half chewed and had to spit it out before I threw up. Threw the rest in the compost bin. Never woulda believed I'd have actually thrown out a pumpkin pie, but then again, I'm laying no bets as to the filling actually having ever been near a pumpkin.
