I had the same problem-had a kitchen full of copper cookware that had the linings worn off. I was told that you can get too much copper in your system from using them constantly, especially if used with acid foods like tomatoes, etc. Don't know how true it is, but I asked the Good Housekeeping Institute, and was told NOT to use them, as the copper was not excreted from your body. You can have them re-tinned, but it's expensive. Jan

Heat the pans to 450 plus degrees and rub tin metal inside them to coat. Get a tin ingot for this. I repaired bottoms with tin sheet and the stove. It worked but it was not as pretty as the ingot way.

OR

Send them to be done. It might be 30 bucks or more for a decent sauce pan, but that is a fraction of the cost of a new coppper pot. if you are not cooking acidc things, don't sweat the copper, especially if you are frying. If you are boiling with salt or acids for long periods of time, you might dissolve enough copper to cause a problem.
