We replaced an old Victorian brick foundation in West Oakland and uncovered an empty bottle of beer buried under the basement soil. It's from the Enterprise Beer Company of San Franciso, and it's attached bottle cap has a date of Feb. 1 1886.

Can anyone tell me about the company?

Answers

The Enterprise Brewing Co (AKa Enterprise, Hildebrandt & cO) was at 2019 Folsom from at least 1881-1902. Enterprise Street, off Folsom, still witnesses to the brewery.
