Question, for Cat Expertsgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News - Homefront Preparations : One Thread |
My Dad used to quote something that Kipling wrote about cats. I remember the first few words (possible small inaccuracy here): "I am the cat, who walks alone. And nothing.." and I don't remember a lick about the rest. Any help?

Kipling--won the Nobel Prize for Lit in 1907, despite his poem "White Man's Burden" being published in 1899. How times have changed! I know WMB is on the web cos I found it the other day. Well worth a search and read in view of current events. Truly. You will be amazed at the man's apparent foresight. Or the lack of lesson-learning since then. Just about anything of Kipling's is worth reading.

My own favorite poet, Ogden Nash, wrote:The trouble with a kitten is that, It eventually becomes a cat.

kipling is great
two young co-eds are necking
the guy whispers into the girl's ear "do you like kipling?"
she whispers back "i'm not sure....i've never kipled"
heh

If he wrote the words to "On the Road to Mandalay" (which I think he did), then the Boy's Glee Club of Welch Jr. High School, Ames IA, kipled a lot.
