Answers

A college buddy visits the crumbling house of his crumbling friend and crumbling sister. Of course his friend's mind is crumbling too as all are fatefully interrelated as symbolized in the poem "The Haunted Palace". He shares some art and chats with Roderick. During the last one his now dead sister claws her way back and collapses onto her stricken brother. When they die the house collapses as the narrator hotfoots it out.
