Apparently there is a statue in the Justice Dept., Lady Justice with an exposed breast, which Ashcroft has ordered draped. My reaction when I first heard this was, "can't possibly be true," but I gather it is.

Could it be breast envy?

This is STUPID! Seems like Ashcroft is taking things a little to far on the moral high ground. *snicker*

Draped in a burqa, I 'spose...

How about this scenario. The statue is there to remind everyone about the basic issues of truth and justice without prejudice. He has a sex fetish and is uncontrollably drawn to look at that statue every time he passes it, due to prurient interest. But the statue then reminds him about justice, which causes him to have a nagging conscience about many of the things he's working on, such as Enron, political contributions, energy/oil deals, wiretapping, etc. He can't stand the conflicts the statue then creates in his mind between things he's doing and things he *should* be doing. Solution: drap that darn statue so he can keep his thoughts straight every day.

Gordon,

Besides that, he can't cop a feel when he walks by, cause they are out of his reach! (I can't believe I said that!)

You could be right Apoc. Just passing by that statue may cause his hand to start shaking uncontrollably, sort of like Dr. Strangelove. Whatever it is, the very sight of it must be making him nuts. (I can't beleive I said that)

I vote for copping a feel.

But then, I'm nuts.
