For those who are trying to follow the course of our own domestic economy and chart a course for the future, here is the text of a report given to Congress about Enron, in general, and what it portends for our economic future regarding the explosive growth of derivatives during the last 10 years. Not a pretty picture. And no longer something that can be corrected without massive pain and suffering. Greed, deceptions, and disinterest by both our law makers and the public at large were the fuel for this situation. Ain't no such thing as a free lunch. Will we ever learn that simple truth?
