In case you wanted to see what the ice storm was like, these pictures come from the Daily Oklahoman (newspaper in town). I snapped a few at my house, but haven't uploaded them yet. These pictures will give you the jest of the situation.

Apoc, be careful of that foot if you go outside.

FWIW, I was born during a major ice storm in MI (worst in 50 years) and the pictures that were taken at the time look similar to the ones you posted, even down to a lady standing by a car hidden by branches. Of course, it was a much *older* model of car -- Ford Sunlighter, I think.

Meemur,

Thank you for wanting me to take care of my foot. I'm actually at work today, as the roads coming in were free of ice. It is currently about 32-33 degrees here, and things are melting. They will refreeze tonight, as it is supposed to get back down in the low 20s.

I was a little worried coming in driving on some of the back roads where the trees were hanging low over the roads. I was just hoping that a limb wouldn't come crashing down on the car. Heck, this morning, my car door was frozen shut and after 30 minutes of warming the car up (after I got in) only saw a defrost on the windshield about the size of a dinner plate. I had to scrape.

Tomorrow will be the day for me to see what damage my property has, which will hopefully be minimal. I know that there is some clean up that I'll have to do. Hubby said to leave it until he returns home, but I won't do that as it will be almost a month. He isn't home that much, and I hate for him to have to waste his time doing that type of work. Maybe I'll get the lawn tractor out and tie the limbs to drag if I find that there are that many which I must move. Besides, my son loves to help me do that type of work, especially if I let him "help" me drive the tractor. ;)

Wow! great pics. Worst one I had was in Little Rock, mid-70s--son had to pull me on a sled to the hospital, few blocks away, came down with a terrible infection! This reminds me of the Little Rock storm--VERY dangerous. Poor moos, though!

Those photos do look like an ice storm we had in Michigan just before my daughter was born!!! All night long it sounded like a war zone as huge trees fell in the darkness. It sounded like they were exploding!! What a terrible mess.......hope you don't have too much clean up on your place. We had a couple of inches of ice on top of almost 14 inches of snow, lost power for just 12 hours. A real record for us, we usually go down for lots of days.

My husband and I got married during an ice storm. We ended up with a very captive audience at the dance because no one could get up the hill out of the hotel parking lot. We all had fun, though.
