"Pulled" our first calf last night!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Yesterday we went to check on our expecting heifers and lo and be hold, one had a hoof sticking out. We watched her from 10:30 until 2:00 and decided to pull the calf! Our first ever! Mom and baby had a rough start. She still has some discharge as of 4:30am but she has eaten and is feeding and 'protecting' her little one. The rain that was suppose to be here last night 'passed' us by. Thank the good Lord! Thanks to everyone who has helped with their information! It really is a blessing to have all you wonderful "neighbors" to come to my rescue!

Happy February!

We had our first kid (goat please...we already 7 real ones) last week. Had a little billy. Another one is due next week.

We used the advise gleaned here and knew what to expect, so it went really well for us and the children.
