PETA's Latest

I gather that PETA is promoting a vegan lifestyle and aiming that message at kids. That is bloody dangerous, in contrast to vegetarianism (vegans cut out eggs and dairy products too, is my understanding).

PETA is a real PITA (pain in the a$$). I read either last week or the week before, that they were having a "fur" collection drive. Guess where they were going to send all these fur coats and blankets?

Afghanistan

Yep, we can't wear them here, but they have no problem sending them over there.

Guess that is better than covering them in blood and throwing them on the stage at fashion shows, which they have done before.

PETA what a PITA.

A vegan diet can be healthy but it takes a lot of work and concentration--which most adults don't have, let alone kids. You're right, Peter, it means no animal products whatsoever, incuding dairy products.

I have no problem with people not wearing fur (I don't myself and the only leather footwear/purses I have are either pre-change-in-philosophy or bought second-hand). But I certainly have a problem with these idiots who throw paint on women who choose to wear dead animals. There are ways to make a point without violence and terrorism--which is what that is.

Old Git,

I hope that you didn't take my words as saying that I wished everyone wore a fur, cause I don't. But to take from those that have and give to those that would kill us... makes my skin crawl.

I see no problem with leather goods. What else are we supposed to do with all those cow skins? Not to mention goat skins, snake skins, etc...

Oh no, Apoc, didn't take it that way at all. PETA is over the top, definitely, and that's a stupid thing to do--but they're irrational, so whaddaya expect???

BF, if you don't eat the animals, you don't have to get rid of the skins :) I kinda agree but so many people called me a hypocrite for wearing leather shoes but disdaining fur, well, I guess they had a point, so. . .
