It'll be fine. Hope it is not injured. Is it a hen or a rooster? Good luck, sorry about the others. LQ

Oh no! Make sure your pen is good and sound to keep your dog from doing that again! I use hot wire; one strand near the bottom to keep dogs from digging under, and another at "nose" level. It's likely your dog will have a special taste for chickens from now on. Be careful!

Sounds like you and that lone leghorn might become buddies.

Grandma always said, "Once a dog gets a taste for chicken he will keep killing and killing until you get rid of the dog".

My dogs have killed their share of my poultry pets. I whipped their hiney to a pulp & monitor their whereabouts at all times. Shocker collars helped me to break them of the habit. The poultry have the run of the place & the dogs are kept at bay since if given the chance they will continue to kill. It's for fun & not because they are hungry, even though they will eat them. When I have a single that I am concerned about, it comes in the house into my pantry where we become buddies. It would be fine by itself, but they get lonely. Susan
