In my recent reading on udder care I came across the use of Lasix for udder edema. When using pill form how much do you give and how often. Thanks

Hmmmmmm.... Lasix? I think I too read that someplace a while ago. I would be hesistant to use it, but thats me. Our black lab who is 12 took it for a few yrs, vet thought she had congestive heart failure, she is 12 now and still going strong, been off it for a few yrs now.

I would suggest warm washcloths and massaging for udder edema and using Vicks Vapo Rub. I found it to work well and in 2 weeks the doe was fine.

You could go to saanendoah.com and see what Joyce says, yes we have used it before, what works much better is to milk the does before they kid so they don't get edema. Our lasix's came from the vet and was in a shot form, one of those vet time things. Vicki
