I have a section of my layout powered with a digitrax db150 used as a slave booster.I'm having problems figuring out a short circuit problem and suspect it is the double slip switch.Help re gapping would be very appreciated. The web site has been of great help to me.Thanks Frank Guilfoyle

Frank, could you give a little more information about the problem. eg. Does the short exist all the time or only when running a loco through? If only when running through, does it happen when straight through or only when crossing over? When crossing over, do you throw all 4 switches or just the two for the chosen route?

Hello again Frank.

I have one of these crossovers and have now had some time to look in detail at how I use it.

I do not have any gaps in the rails. I used to have some shorting problems with it but I recently installed 4 tortoise switch machines on it and I operate all of them simultaneously. That is, I throw all 4 switches either straight or diverging at the same time. This has eliminated any short circuit problems that existed. The key is to throw all 4 switches every time.
