I spit on your graves

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Boris Vian : One Thread

Is there a difference (other than the price) between TamTam Books' version of I spit on your graves v.s. Canongate? The price is so dramatically different that it makes me curious.. Any prompt response would be greatly appreciated!

As far as I know both are Boris Vian's own translation of his book., therefore the text would presumably be the same.

US and UK rights to books have been separate for ages - pricing is dependent on a large range of variables including print run, paper stock, etc etc.

If he hasn't already I'm sure that Tosh at Tam Tam books can supply you with info about the US publication. His web site is here. http://www.tamtambooks.com/vian/vian.html

The TamTam edition contains a foreword by Marc Lapprand. The Canongate edition (which I don't have yet) has an intro by Jim Sallis.
