I'd like to know about the types of bias that could occur in psychological reasearch, especially when conducting a lab experiment on the effect of interference in the short term memory

It would depend, of course, on the details of the procedure involved. There is a great deal of literature on experimenter bias in social psychology. The first six articles republished in Badia, Haber & Runyon's _Research problems in psychology_ would be a good place to start. I cannot give you all the details, but they are authored by Martin T Orne, Robert Rosenthal, F. J. McGuigan, B.L.Klintz et al., and Herbert C. Kelman. A PsycInfo search should turn up the right aricles.

To begin, a classic in psychological research: Campbell,D. & Stanley, J.(1963) Experimental and quasi-experimental designs for research. Chicago, Il. Rand McNally
