Then.......there are the moral bankruptcies

"I think he (Clinton) is an honest person....I think the fact that someone has told a lie, even a big lie or maybe several big lies over a lifetime, does not mean that they're an inherently dishonest person."

-Dan Rather reaffirming his original statement of last year on the Don Imus Show.

W reacts to being called "Julius Caesar" by Ted "I'm Off My Meds" Turner

Bonnie and Clyde Wallowing in Greed: Now, how could this not be the first item of the day? Yesterday's congressional hearings into the Great Clinton Gift Heist revealed a total of $400,000 worth of goodies were taken upon their shameful departure. (One telling tidbit the investigation did not reveal was that the famous Monica beret was in a box from designer Donna Karan sent to Chelsea.) A Clinton staffer says these revelations are the work of the VRW. Perhaps, but can anyone come up with a time the VRW hasn't told the truth about the Clinton's criminal behavior? That's what they are for. What can one say about the hubris of it all except to remark on how pathetic and needy these two are? Here New York Times is forced to take note. Count the times they use the word "Republican."

Get The Hook: There should be a nationwide number to dial for Loony On The Loose alerts. We could have used it for Ted Turner after his speech at Brown U. the other night. Now he says he was quoted out of context. Would anyone listen to this manic-depressive nut case if he didn't have a billion dollars?

On The Road To Damascus: Overnight, both Gore and Daschle have seen the light of good versus the Axis of Evil and agreed with Bush. If this keeps up none of us will have anything to write about. Here's Allie's acceptance:

And, The Dash Man's retreat:

The Little Item That Could: Squirreled half way down in Al Kamen's Washington Post column this morning is this interesting tidbit. A relatively minor Clinton fundraiser is in tax trouble for not reporting a gift from Charlie Trie - remember him? Federal prosecutors investigating Clinton fundraising misdeeds are willing to cut some slack for info. Go know there was such a thing! They are probably VRW federal prosecutors but hope spring eternal.

And, for another infuriating funny money scooplette, check out Michelle Malkin's column.

Simplisme This! Up for some delicious Frog bashing? Check out Michael Kelly's column this morning. His larger point is Big Boy thinking for Big Boy minds. We seldom swear but........ damn he's good.

Telegraphing His Shot: We liked the matter-of-factness of this Knight-Ridder headline. We picture W waking up, slapping his forehead and saying, "That's it! I've made up my mind. I've decided to overthrow Hussein."
