Large Format News Group and Earthlink

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Large format photography : One Thread

Would anyone here who subscribes to the rec.photo.equipment.large-format newsgroup, and who also uses Earthstink (I mean Earthlink) as their ISP, tell me whether that news group has been dropped by Earthlink? It has disappeared from my list of Earthlink's available newsgroups though all other rec.photo newsgroups continue to be listed. My e mail inquiries to Earthlink have produced only useless canned responses and calling their customer support line is such agony that I do it only in total desperation.

I wasn't on it but signed up no problem and I'm on earthlink...

I'm answering on Earthlink right now. My system won't work on UU.Net for these groups.

I have an independent ISP but for the past few days I have been having all sorts of problems with newsgroups being deleted and other online problems. Anybody have any idea what's going on?

I lost access to my newsgroups months ago.

In the while you can always read it at google.

Thanks to all who responded to my question. I gave up on getting anything meaningful from Earthlink by e mail and called tech support. After the usual plethora of recorded messages and long waits I finally reached a person and was advised to do what someone above suggested - unsubscribe to all newsgroups and then go through the subscription process again. That worked. I mention all this very off topic problem and solution just in case someone else might be having the same problem.
