Loved Al's comment about being the England captain added 10% to his game. He clearly loved the role. He's beginning to open up a bit on TV and his dry humour is being appreciated by the others.

I agree about Vassell - I certainly didn't rate him that highly, but his performance suggested he is one of those rare talents that is immediately at home on an international stage. Awesome debut. Ricketts looked out of sorts, very nervous. Can't see him making Japan but Vassell must be in with a shout, unless it was a one off.

Did you know that Peters and Hurst made their England debut's in early 1966, in fact Peters made his in the MAY of that year, so there is a precedence of people coming in late. Whatever happened to those two?
