I have a CD-ROM which has the New Revised Standard version of the bible, with notes, and a companion to the bible. It has the following ISBN 0-19-528471-2. I have found it helpful, Leonard - though I am sure there are fuller and more up-to-date CD-ROMs around. I think I saw that Cathedral Books in Dublin has something in its recent catalogue. Maybe you could check them out ... You may also find it useful to have a link with the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which is a very comprehensive presentation of the church's teaching. You can read it on-line in the Vatican site : http://www.vatican.va/ Sorry for the short message, but hopefully there are others out there who may be able to help. Go gently joe

I was in the Cathedral Book Shot today and they haven't, at present, got the Bible on CD. They have a bible commentary all right. I got into the Vatican site and it should be very helpful.

I am not any help to you Leonard but if I find out anything I will let you know. I found it difficult to get to this site but now that I have succeeded I will check regularly.

Good luck

Moira,

Welcome to the discussion forum!

Just note (to yourself and to anyone else reading this): after entering your password you arrive at a page where the list of already opened topics is displayed. The third paragraph down after those titles is just one sentence: "If you want to follow this discussion by email, click here to add an alert." If you click on the underlined bit, every time someone asks a new question or answers an old one, you will be sent an e-mail with the contents of their intervention. If you wish to stop their arrival, you can do so by clicking on the same place and following the subsequent instructions.

Sunrise Software at www.sunrise-software.com has a range of CD ROM bibles, starting at £29.00. This one has RSV, NKJV, NIV, KJV - with commentaries, (Evangelical Protestant only I think).

I wish I could get a Jerusalem CD ROM - with a Raymond Brown type commentary, but haven't seen one yet. I use one called the PC Study Bible, which is excellent, but a bit pricey.

You're not on your own 'out there'. I still haven't finished 'the book' but throughly enjoyed the chapters involved in the course work. I read it in the 'light of' - this is what happened before 'the Garden'. It seems more believable than the Genesis story, for this modern age anyway, and of course, the science part is true. The naming of cells etc. is just putting 'names to faces' so to speak, in the myth element of the Genesis story.
