Seeds at a nickle a pack

Bought 2002 season seeds at the family dollar store , twenty packs for a dollar. In addition to the usual vegetables I got marigolds, daisys, old fashion mixture, clarkia, snapdragons, candytuft, sunflowers, impateins, zinnia and bachelor buttons. While growing some of these in container, I hope to plant some hectic sown on the north and south sides of the house. Has anyone else tried flower like this?

Huh! Wonder if the Dollar Store has onion seeds...?!

No, Jay, I haven't tried them like that; but it sounds like a pretty neat idea. Hmmmm, I've got that bed out south of the shed where I was going to move the bee balm to but I need some annuals to fill in....

Family Dollar store you say..............tell me not to get in my car and drive 13 miles today!!!!!! Sounds fun. Yes, we did the scatter thing one year with a big bunch of flower seed and old veggie seed to. Was great fun to see what would survive weeds etc. I found that if I weeded a little bit at the start, that I could have some to cut. Were I didn't weed, the weeds won.

In case anyone cares why I am back on line, it's cause I just left that GARDEN SITE that that FRIEND Polly told me about. Oh my goodness, I am in deep now. Talk about addictions..........whoa doggie.

Enough with the onion seed digs, you..you..Polly you! I love the look of a scattered wild English country garden. Tip...mix the seed with sand so everything doesn't end up in one big clump and need thinning.

I had so many plans for flowers and cottage garden looks for my place. Turns out, I have too much shade and shade loving plants just don't cut it with great looks. Oh well... I'm going to try that already fertilized hummingbird mixture that I'll have to make sure the chickens can't get into this spring. My problem is I always forget to keep them lightly watered.
