Happy happy me! Took trash to the township dump today and saw 3 sets of windows leaning by the big dumpster in the parking lot. They are now mine! For nothing! And to think I was looking at new ones. Never mind big fat businesses...got mine now.

Wow! Sounds great! Today I picked up a perfectly good fan on one of those stands that occillates back and forth. It didn't work when I got it home, but I took the 3 in 1 oil to it and it is humming away now! It still has the stand and it still occillates too! Great deal! One man's(woman's) trash is another woman's(man's) blessing! This is certainly a throw away society!!!! Good deal for us though!!! :~D

I have a large set of windows, about six feet wide, double paned. If someone wants them and lives between Houston and Corpus, you can have them.

In my world we call that psychic shopping. Wish for something and somehow, some way it shows up when you need it.

I got an almost brand new upright freezer and washing machine that way this summer.

It really works sometimes. :-)

Psychic shopping! Yes! Though I tend to think that "Someone" is looking out for us, and sends us what we need. I had a lucrative dumpster experience last week...an old house is being remodeled in town, and for some odd reason the people are tossing out all the old windows and doors, complete with the gorgeous old knobs & hardware. I asked if I could pick through the dumpster, and then filled my truck with antique goodies. Made my whole day!

Well, my story isn't as good as all yours, but it was what we needed when we needed it! We finally broke down and bought a roll of chicken wire so we could cage up the layers and start finding the eggs we're feeding them for. We were planning on having to buy 2x's to build our tractor frames, but just for grins went over to the place next to ours to dig through thier portable sawmill scrap pile. They had thrown away many, many board feet of the old style, true 2"x2"s! It was a great find...in fact we're going back today for more, and maybe I'll end up with my fryers after all!
