Stainless and if possible, no seams

I avoid aluminum for everything. There is research that seems to suggest a link between aluminum and Alzheimer's Disease. Stainless steel is definitely the way to go.

Stainless will last you a lifetime, cleans easier, does not discolor, does not give off taste, and bateria does not grow as quickly in stainless - especially if you have one with no seams.

I'm careful with aluminium, although I'm not convinced about the connection with Alzheimer's Disease. However, aluminium will corrode, and it's VERY hard to make stainless steel do so. I use stainless steel for just about everything I can except crockery and microwave- ware and once-used food-grade containers.

A nice stainless milk tote is an investment for a life time. I use mine for cheese making and numerous other things besides just toting milk.

Stay away from aluminum as it is a heavy metal.

Don, there's plenty of evidence of aluminum poisoning. This one site alone http://www.healthfree.com/paa/paa0008.htm will make you stop using it entirely. The only reason camping gear uses aluminum is for it's light weight. Aluminum foil transfers particles to your food. The link btw aluminum and alzheimers is relatively new, but all in all, it's still not safe for use.
