greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Tonight we are having whole wheat spaghetti, home-made sauce, salad, and garlic bread. For dessert, angel food cake, strawberries and whipped cream.

What is for supper in your neck of the woods????

Well, after hearing that menu, I don't think I feel like cooking. Leave the porch light on! LOL. Just found your board thru Countryside, sad about them, life goes on. I hope to make friends here, board looks good so far. :)

Meatloaf!-I'm easing into the once a month cooking-though its more like once a week cooking for me right now. Anyway, last weekend I did meatloaves and meatballs, so today, since I'm going to be busy with kids rooms and don't want to do cooking, I'm going to have one of the meatloaves, I'll have some mashed potatoes and rolls and probably peas to go with.

I baked a turkey for Sat. so we'll have turkey pot pie. I'm going to can the rest with broth some time today. We'll have peas and a salad with iced tea. I want to make a chocolate pound cake for dessert.] Blessings Peggy

I was thinking about spaghetti, and after reading yours, it sounds good enough to eat! (haha!) So, probably spaghetti with meat sauce, green beans (the boys don't like salad yet), salad, and garlic bread. I'll have to give dessert a little more thought - we never had it growing up, so for me that is the most difficult part of the meal usually!

Creamed pes and eggs on mashed potatoes. If I can find the cauliflower, easily, I've got something I want to try, something different. applesauce and maybe smoked sausage for Gary.

Just finished it. Cornmeal pancakes, home-cured bacon and some of the new-crop maple syrup. Breakfast for supper =o)

We had one of our meals where we start counting the stuff that was "ours" that we raised. Had honey-curried chicken (our chicken and our honey), stir-fried rice with several different veggies in it, applesauce, pickles and for desert homemade goat's milk ice cream with our frozen peaches on top. It amazes me how truly blessed we are.

We had Chili's chicken, which is chicken breast with bbq sauce, bacon and melted jack cheese. Had brown rice/black beans, corn and rolls to go with it. For dessert, hot out of the oven choco chip cookies!

Well here goes.

I steamed shrimp and lobster tails. They were cubed and stir fried with onions, baby carrots and peppers. They were then cooked in a curry sauce. Served over spatzle with a fresh salad.

Quite good.

Fresh vegetable soup with cornbread and home-made butter (yay! we made butter) and treats my grandparents sent from PA for dessert.

I got off easy today : )

Now I have to figure out what to do with lamb for tomorrow....
